Most of the people do it because it is a way to save some money and you can get exactly what you are looking for. Another good thing about it is you don't have to go to the same company and get new parts because the computer is a proprietary design.

Another benefit of this is that you get to know the hardware and you become more familiar with computers. Today the people are more familiar with computers and people from all walks of life are constructing their own computers. You will see students, housewives and just about any person doing it on their own.

To build ons own computer is cheaper but at the same time the computers sitting on the shelves in the stores are also cheaper than they use to be. Many people will ask why should they do it on their own when the price difference is not that much. For the people interested in computers the answer is as easy as the color of the sky.

To build this computer will not only give you the chance to know it better, but you can actually choose the different components you want in the computer. That is a huge plus for enthusiasts because in the shops, the computers might not be built the way they want them. On the other side, when you build a computer- you feel proud of yourself.

Building a computer is not a hard process and depending on your knowledge, it may take you a couple of hours. When you get to the end and you are ready to push the power switch and see the result of you work, that is when you are most exited. At that point if the computer works from the first time, you will be in haven.

A couple years ago it was really better to build your computer because you would know the components you will put in it are the brand you want. Back then the PCs sold in the shops were equipped with cheap components and that is why many people preferred to build their PCs themselves. Now the components are better quality but companies still try to save money trough their prebuilt computers.

Most of the people who are not familiar with computers will just go to the closest shop and tell the retailer what amount of money they have and ask for a computer that is good enough for the price. They don't really care of the component's band. Most of the time, the computer will do the job they wanted it to do anyways.

You will use the computer for a couple of years and at one point, it will be too slow for the new programs and applications that are on the market, but you will save a lot when you build your own PC. At that point you will need to upgrade it but in many cases that is not possible. Building your own computer means you pick the components and that gives you more flexibility on upgrades.

Why You Should Build Your Own PC

If you have bought a computer from the store, you know all the disadvantages that come with that kind of machine, that is how come you should build your own PC. You still have that same PC, but it is very slow and you have tried to do some upgrades but all of them were not successful. At this point you have come to the decision you need a new computer to replace the one you already have.

Last time when you bought that computer you were unfamiliar with computers and you didn't feel sure enough in building one individually. This time you have experience and you will defiantly build it by yourself. You know the benefits of building a machine and at the same time, it will be an enjoyable task.

If you are faced with the dilemma of building a computer or buying one from the store that is already built, there are certain things to keep in mind. You should definitely choose the option to build the PC, you don't have to worry that you are not very familiar with it. If you keep reading up on the subject, you shall learn some tips which will help you build the computer even if you are inexperienced.

If you don't find enough info out there to make you feel free about building one's own PC- you can Google it and you could be able to get manuals with pictures. You can also find detailed step by step guides and even a beginner will be able to handle it. You my be personally able to learn more about the hardware and the software of the computer.

You will have to put all of the components together in the box and then install all the software so you can successfully use that computer. Once you have chosen all of the components and have everything at home, you can start building a new computer. Of course- the first thing you may need is the box where you can place all the hardware.

Very important is to make sure you get hardware that is of a good brand and you would be able to get proper support from the producer. The most important part of the PC will be the processor which is basically the engine of a computer. Depending on what you need the computer to do for you, you shall need to get proper CPU.

Many times people think they don't need powerful computers because they don't run heavy programs. That is OK - the computer is not going to go bad if it is powerful, technologies are improving every day. In a couple of years, you might need much more than you need today.

The other very important component you will need to connect to the mother board, when you build your own PC is the RAM. That component also helps the processor in there to work faster and get more work done within a given period of time. This way if you have a powerful processor and not too much RAM, let's say 1GB, your computer will not be powerful enough, the processors today are with 3 and 4 cores and they need more like 4GB and over.

How To Build Your Own PC

You are that point where you don't have patience to wait on a slow computer, which takes more than five minutes to turn on, you need to Build your own PC. You have decided you need to buy a new computer but this time you don't want to repeat the mistake from the last time. Now you want to do it yourself and choose all the components you want, the way you want them.

There are many things you need to think about, but the first one is the power supply for a new computer. If you don't want the power supply to explode and ruin a brand new unit, you need to sit down and calculate all the watts you will need to supply all the different components in you new device.

Once you have calculated everything you might have come up with a number, like 360 watts, for all the components for example. In this case you need to make sure you get a power supply with at least that much wattage, or even more. On top of that, you must think that at one point you can do updates and you would need extra watts, it will be great if you get a power supply of 500 watts or more.

The next step is to install all the components and before you start doing it, you need to make sure you get rid of all the static energy. The best way to do this, is by using a material that is anti-static, like a band. If you don't have one and you don't want to look for one, you can use an alternative method- just touch something metal.

Once you got rid of the static, you must fit the ATX back plate and make sure it is facing in the right direction. Then you will have to screw all the standoff screws. It will be good for you to get a mother board that will support more than one processor like the i3, i5 and i7 processors.

Once the mother board is ready, it is time to place the processor, you must be very gentle with it and all the other components as well. To place the processor, you may have the lever handle down and then away from the socket. Before you place the CPU, make sure it is facing the socket in the right direction and then on top of it- you can install the CPU cooler.

The next step will be to place the DDR3 SDRAM Memory, which is very similar to DDR2 but they are not compatible, if you have an extra one. To place the memory, you will have to open the memory sockets by moving the clips. After that you will be able to place the DDR3 memory.

The other thing you shall have to place in the case when you build your own PC is a hard drive, which is a very simple process. Just pick one of the empty bays that are good to fit the hard drive in and slide it gently into it, then connect the SATA power and data cables to the hard drive. Once that is done, you got a couple more steps and you shall be able to successfully use your computer.
